\"\"Background:<\/h3>\n

I have an interest in taking a creative multidisciplinary approach to my work. My research curiosities lie among using interactive design, human-computer interaction, graphic design, fine arts, and new media to express personal issues, human rights, and the right to online privacy. I am also interested in research related to technology, information visualization, and video gaming and I am a seasoned public speaker.<\/p>\n

<\/h3>\n

Academics, Technology, and Training:<\/h3>\n

I received my PhD in Technical Communication<\/a> at\u00a0Illinois Institute of Technology<\/a> where my research focused on information visualization of identity presentation in social media. I have an interest in merging creative, aesthetic, experimental, and novel visualization designs. I hold a Master of Science in Computer Science with a focus on Human-Computer Interaction from the College of Computing and Digital Media<\/a> at DePaul University<\/a> and a Bachelor of Science degree from DePaul University in Experimental Psychology and Studio Art. I am also certified in UX with a specialty in Interaction Design<\/a> through the Nielsen Norman Group<\/a>. My interests in art, technology, design, communication, and human behavior have given me the opportunity to combine several disciplines and develop ideas that would not otherwise be possible. Currently, I am Instructor of Digital Media<\/a> at Harvard Extension School<\/a> and Professor of Computer Information Systems at City Colleges of Chicago. I have also taught at DePaul University\u2019s College of Computing and Digital Media<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Instructional Technology and Design:<\/h3>\n

Over the last 2 decades, I have become highly skilled at building and designing online, hybrid, blended, and face-to-face learning experiences that utilize a variety of modalities, media, and formats. I have worked with publisher materials, online materials, reviewed work, and even created my own original content and videos.<\/p>\n

The Creative Arts:<\/h3>\n

My visual has been exhibited in numerous shows and has earned me both local and national recognition. I have been affiliated with Gallery 37<\/a>, had work on display for the City of Chicago, the DePaul Art Museum<\/a>, and had a painting on display at the Smithsonian.
